Tree Day: National Reforestation Event

While national tree day is this coming Thursday, the big nation-wide reforestation event took place this Saturday in all the states across the country. The big goal was to get as many people as possible out to plant trees on Saturday. While the tallies are still coming in, it looks like over 9 million trees were planted across Mexico, and over 1.5 million in the state of Puebla. This is an extremely important number for my office because it places Puebla at #2 in the ranks for most trees planted and everyone in the office was really excited. I was at a park within the city and we had about 300 people come out and we planted over 4000 white cedar. All in all a good event and it got a lot of trees in the ground, now the only question is how many are actually going to survive….
